Solar Programs General Terms & Conditions The following terms and conditions apply to all GRS India solar programs. It is recommended that these and the terms and conditions specific to your installation type (e.g., Photovoltaic (PV) or Water) are reviewed before project initiation.

General Terms and Conditions for All Solar Programs Customer Responsibilities

  • The customer must seek appropriate advice concerning any tax liabilities that may be associated with the receipt of a rebate.GRS India is not responsible for any tax liabilities the customer may incur.
  • The customer hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors and agents from any and all liability associated with the solar program.
  • The customer is responsible for the application process, from initiation through completion. The customer may designate a primary contact; however, the customer must ensure that all guidelines, terms and conditions, requirements, and program processes are followed.
  • The customer must sign the application, and upon doing so, agrees to all program requirements including all terms and conditions.
  • The customer shall ensure that all appropriate permits (e.g. local, state) have been obtained and that deed restrictions or home owner association restrictions do not prohibit the installation of the proposed PV system.


1: Installation/Equipment Requirements

  • All solar system installations must be completed in accordance with all laws, codes and other requirements applicable under federal, state and local authority (e.g. permits, inspections) and all appropriate city building permits must be obtained.
  • No energy savings are guaranteed as a result of the purchase and installation of eligible equipment.
  • The installer is responsible for all warranties. GRS India is not responsible for any contractual and/or construction disputes between the installer and customer.


2: Miscellaneous

  • Modification/Termination. The solar programs may be modified or terminated at any time without notice.
  • Program Guidelines. The solar programs' guidelines and terms and conditions are subject to change without notice, and GRS India reserves the right to refuse any application request that does not meet GRS requirements.


3: General Terms & Conditions for All Rebated Solar Programs Eligibility

  • The rebate recipient must be a GRS India customer. The customer must have a GRS India electric service account number and the equipment must be installed at the specified address.
  • The customer must own the PV system.
  • Participation in the solar rebate program does not affect customer participation in other GRS India efficiency/conservation programs.
  • Prior to, or after paying any rebate, GRS India reserves the right to conduct a site visit/audit to verify that the installed equipment is eligible for rebate. A rebate will not be paid if GRS India is not able to conduct any required pre or post site visit/audit or verification. Repeated site visits/audits and commissioning tests may be subject to additional fees.
    The purpose of the site visit/audit is to determine rebate eligibility and not a safety review.
  • All rebate applications must be approved and requirements met prior to system installation.


4: Customer Responsibilities

  • It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the PV system/equipment is installed and maintained in accordance with the current GRS India terms & conditions, standards, guidelines and policies.
  • The customer agrees to provide access to GRS India personnel or its designated agents to the solar equipment and meters for as long as the solar system is installed.
  • It is the customers responsibility to inform GRS India if the assigned installer changes and the customer acknowledge that rebate eligibility may be affected by this change.
  • Rebate Funds No applications is guaranteed and a rebate and PV Systems may be incentivized at 2 different rates
  • Rebate funding is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • When program funding is exhausted, the applications are placed in a holding queue
  • The final rebate amount is calculated upon final verification and may vary from estimated amount(s).
  • In the event that the rebate amount changes, or if rebate funds are depleted, during the course of the program, commissioning date will be used to determine the rebate amount and eligibility.
  • A rebate shall not exceed the maximum amount allowed under current GRS India solar rebate program guidelines.
  • Once a system has reached the applicable rebate tier cap in a GRS India fiscal year (Feb. 1 - Jan. 31), no further applications will be accepted. Applications for existing systems, such as for increasing the size, are subject to the application procedures, terms & conditions, rebate tiers, and other solar rebate program criteria at the time of acceptance. Rebate Violations
  • The customer shall refund a prorated portion of the rebate to GRS India if it is determined by GRS India that the system/equipment has not been installed or maintained pursuant to GRS India terms and conditions, standards, guidelines or policies. The prorated portion shall be calculated by reducing the rebate paid by 20% per year for each of the five years following final inspection and approval (first 20% reduction to occur on the first anniversary date of rebate payment).

5 : Installation/Equipment Requirements

  • The system must be installed by a GRS India registered solar. Rebate amounts are lower for non-local contractors. After May 1, 2016 to receive the local rebate rates, semi-annually, an installer must either: a. provide the GRS India account number of the installers business in the business name, or b. Demonstrate and certify that it
  • If a contractor is removed from the GRS India Registered Solar Contractors List, the PV system is no longer eligible for rebate if the system has not been completed.
  • Once energized (placed in service) GRS India rebated systems must adhere to GRS India terms and conditions, guidelines and policies and cannot be disconnected or moved without prior approval from GRS India.
  • The solar system must be placed in service within the GRS India service area.


6: Eligibility

  • The solar PV system must be installed in compliance with CPS Energys technical requirements and must conform to GRS India standards.
  • GRS India will install and own the Billing/Revenue and PV meters.
  • Customers must provide GRS India access to all applicable meters (e.g. Revenue/Billing and PV) for billing and inspection purposes.
  • Solar PV systems may not be energized until the commissioning test; additionally, systems may only stay energized if they pass the commissioning test

  • Violations pertaining to policies regarding the start of construction or energizing the PV system prior to GRS India commissioning test may result in the installer being placed on probation or being removed from the GRS India Registered Solar Contractors List.
  • All PV systems must be interconnected, at customers expense, to CPS Energys electrical grid. All PV systems must comply with current GRS India guidelines governing interconnection with CPS Energies electric system, and any subsequent revisions to these guidelines. These and other requirements are subject to change.


7: Customer Responsibilities

  • The customer agrees to allow GRS India to account for renewable energy generated by the PV system for reporting purposes.
  • The customer must sign, complete and submit the PV incentive rebate application. The rebate application must be accompanied by the manufacturers rating and warranty information.


8: Rebate Funds

  • The customers failure to adhere to all GRS India solar program terms and conditions, requirements, standards, policies, and guidelines shall constitute a violation and result in the customer forfeiting his/her right to the rebate and require the customer to refund the rebate to GRS India as discussed in the General Terms & Conditions for Rebated Solar Systems.
  • . Violations pertaining to policies regarding the start of construction or energizing the PV system prior to the GRS India commissioning test will render the system ineligible for a rebate. Installation/Equipment Requirements


The rebated solar PV system cannot be removed from the GRS India service territory.

  • A rebated solar PV system that has received a rebate may be relocated only within the GRS India service territory and the following conditions apply
  • The customer of record must inform the solar program administration by sending an email to customerhelp@grsindiacorporation.com providing a description of their relocation intent and contact information.
  • The new transferee, if applicable, shall be required to obtain GRS India approval of the relocated system by submitting a new application and following the solar PV system program application process.
  • The relocated system must meet all requirements under the solar PV system program.
